The cameos are unconfirmed, though the Samus toy in Booster Tower has been confirmed.  Based on how faithful everything has been this far, I would be shocked if they were missing.

If it is anything like the original, no they will not.

From the  1998 version the only characters are from the original mario world (peach, bowser, toads, yoshi, koopas, etc.) plus a marshmallow lookin guy, and geno a magical puppet dude..

idk if the last 2 are from anything else but never seen em in any other game
