Hi Anni. Yes, the PIR motion sensors on cameras are tuned to detect human body temperature, however dogs and cats will be able to trigger it as well if close enough. Please be aware that it can take half a second for a battery operated camera to wake out of its sleep state and start recording so if your cat moves really quickly there is a chance it may have left the camera view before the recording begins. If you position the camera well you should be able to get the result you're looking for. A mains powered camera such as our SWIFI-2KICAM will tend to wakeup and start recording a little faster if you have a power socket nearby and want to look at alternative camera options. -SD, Swann team
