BestBuy isn't doing anything other than selling Nintendo's product at it's MSRP. It's unlikely they're making any more money on it than they do the $299 Switch. AS far as Nintendo setting the MSRP the difference in cost is less than 17% from the standard Switch. That's a relatively minor price difference so you get relatively minor improvements. For people who play handheld, especially in brightly lit environments, it may be a significant improvement. For anyone who plays mostly docked, this product probably isn't for you. It is a bit disappointing that the processing wasn't improved in this version (it probably would have been $400+ if it had). But there are a lot of good reasons that may not have been an option. Including the fact that there is a significant global hardware electronic component shortage, the base Switch model is selling about as fast as they can make it, and about 28 million people have bought a base model or switch lite in the last year, coming out with a new model that has exclusive games or can play existing games significantly better may really frustrate those customers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't, they actually cut costs with their box and dock size, their new molds can't be worth millions, but in the end this will be bought up to the point of no inventory even though the product uses the same internal components, and external components minus a different dock, barely upgraded screen, and plastic hinge.
