Can you play old games on this like the wii unit? null

If you purchase them from the Nintendo Online community, AND they are not specifically nuilt for the Wii U then yes. I.e, old Mario/Yoshi/Donkey Kong games from the original Nintendo or Super Nintendo, yes you can play those.

Sadly no, but they are bringing most of the Wii-U library to it.

As of right now, no you cannot play wii games. You can play select NES titles and Sega Genesis titles.

No, sorry. If you sign up for the monthly service, you'll get 33 NES titles, but that's all they have.
