Can I use this on a towel on my lap in the car null

I wouldn't suggest it. As with any electronic device, you want to make sure that the vents can allow airflow. The towel would prevent the necessary airflow to cool the components.

Can't see why not. Charge it up or plug into DC outlet in car. Might be better on a solid surface to allow for add'l airflow.
