Does this DVD player play home recorded dvd's? null

Although I've not tried playing a home recorded dvd, the box my player came in says supported disc format is CD, CD-R, DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW and VCD. I'm assuming if you record in one of the record-able formats, it should work.
