• Yes, you can charge battery and play DVDs at the same time.

• Yes, I keep mine plugged in pretty much all the time at home. Works fine.

• Yes, I believe you can continue to have the machine plugged in & charging, while watching a dvd, without damaging the internal battery. You can also unplug the machine & watch DVDs, if the machine is charged. Remember to turn the machine "ON" button, on the side, or machine won't play despite being fully charged
