You must plug in the usb charger into a wall plug/surge protector, than plug wire into hole on side of dvd player. Be patient & let the machine receive a full charge before you attempt to watch a dvd etc. Disconnect the charge wire from machine & then switch on the "ON" button (located next to the "plug in" wire hole) on side of machine. If you do not switch this button to "ON", the machine will not play, despite being fully charged. Also, make sure you switch that same button to "OFF" after you are finished using the machine or your machine will continue to use up the battery power (& remain "ON" w/red light visible) & machine will get/remain warm/hot. Also, make sure you have a dvd inserted in the machine (& correctly) before you hit play on the remote control.
