I do not think so. I used a different one by the same brand for over 10 years. The only reason I am not using that one now is because I got a new computer that only has usb c ports. I didn’t think it would be a good idea to make it go through an adapter, and have my things then plug into that. I got this one specifically to use with my new computer so that I could plug it directly into the computer. Unless product quality has really gone down in 10 years, I expect it to last like my regular usb one has. As long as you are not rough with the cord, it should be fine. I have actually never had any of my usb cords go bad. The lightening connector on my iPad developed a crack in it, so I replaced that cord. That’s the only computer cord I have ever had to replace.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have some of these usb hubs that have been working for 10 years, never had one go bad. There are a lot of manufacturers with usb-c cables on Amazon.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Cell phone charge cords are connected several times in a 72 hour period causing the connector to wear. Has a USB – C needs only he connected once I left connected to the computer there should not be any wear.
