No, this is a plug adapter. The item your plugging in must be capable of handling teh voltage and frequency.

This is just a plug adapter. Will NOT convert voltage. We only used for a short vacation but if you will be staying longer than a few days, you should buy a converter. Keep in mind that most modern cell phone and laptop chargers have built in transformers.
