• Not sure what cost you are referring to; you can sign up for Roku without paying and without putting in a credit card. Only have to pay for pay per view movies or events.

• It is completely free to activate the TV, and completely free to create a Roku account. There are no additional fees to simply use the TV. You would simply want to make sure you properly follow the instructions during guided setup to avoid going any sort of scam website when activating the TV. Hope this helps!
