The tuner easily picks up local channels here with a square, flat TV antenna indoors. However, most stations here are very close (~5-10 miles). With an amplified antenna, signal strength is greatly increased. The built-in media player will show photos full screen. The media player will play: Video: (H.264/262/H265HEVC) in MKV, MP4, and MOV files. Audio: AAC (5.1), MP3, WMA, WAV (PCM), AIFF, FLAC, and AC3 files. Photo: JPG, PNG (up to 4K x 4K pixels), GIF (up to 4K x 4K pixels). View HELP in the media player for a list of currently supported file types.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This TCL Roku TV has a coaxial located on the back of the TV near the other inputs. By connecting an antenna you can receive over-the-air channels. However, the reception depends on the signal strength. The built-in media player and USB port are design to use moderately sized thumb drives for playing back movies, pictures, and music. You can visit https://support.tclusa.com/283183-playing-video-or-music-from-usb-devices-using-roku-media-player for more information about the functionality and file types supported. Hope this helps!
