• The TV would support this. However, for best performance with an external sound system we would recommend connect through the optical out port or the the HDMI ARC port. Thank you, TCL Customer Support

• Jimmy, I suppose you could do this (mini-plug in, RCA red & white outputs) but you'd only get stereo sound, no 5.1 channel Dolby. Better audio if you go with SPDIF Digital Audio Optical, best audio if you go with HDMI
