You can program this TV to power on to a specific input, and you would not need to navigate the smart features on this TV. Here are steps to accomplish this. Please go to the following: Settings>System>Power>Power On>choose which input you would like your TCL Roku TV to power on to. Also, here is a link with more information. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know why someone said you can't use this TV without the smart features. You absolutelly can. I did set it to use the internet long enough to download any updates and to register it. I then went back into internet settings and deleted that connection so it would not connect to my TV any more. I've been using it for several months now and it works just fine. Other than you can't download updates unless you connect it now and then to the internet to check for updates. Anyway, I didn't want Smart features either and this is how I use mine. Hope this helps.
