Does this require wifi at all? null

It requires an old-style co-axial cable to connect the antenna to the TV. I had to put mine in my attic to find a place with good reception, but luckily had a coax cable running between the attic and a wall outlet next to the TV. It works OK. There are now boxes that can connect to the antenna and direct the antenna signal into the wifi system. You might try doing a search on it.
