• I am not sure if it can be disabled, but I have had this in my car for a year and had no issues with battery drain. The car is in my driveway and there are frequent passers-by with no issues on my battery.

• Yes, you can disable PARKING MODE in the settings of the dash cam. You have to log into it using WI-FI to access it.
