It depends on which dash cam you purchase. My installer said "let me look to see if it came with the hardwire kit." And when he said it didn't, he suggested I purchase it. He went ahead and installed the camera and I went back in about two weeks for him to install the kit. Installing the kit took him 15 minutes. So, check the description of the dash cam you are considering. If your dash cam does not come with it, I would suggest you purchase both at the same time so you can get both installed at the same time.
