• I did the electrical tape thing also. If the power button the remote doesn't turn "off/on" the TV, then press the mic button on the remote and say "fire tv off/on".

• I tried electrical tape and then my TiVo remote did not work. Tried turning the TV off by voice control and the light stays on.
