“I have pictures on the TV that I want to display (on the 55 inch version). No matter if I use the USB drive or Prime Photo app, the tv shuts off automatically after 15 minutes even though the sleep timer is set to off. Is there a way around this?”

check the power saving settings. I believe there is one that says turn off if no activity in xx minutes. and it has options to select.
