“We tried scanning for channels but the tv wont find any, we made sure that the cable was plugged in correctly and plugged in all the way but it still wont find any channels, please help!”

It only finds channels on an external antenna. Connect your cable to HDMI1. Then select HDMI1 on the main menu using your Fire remote. Then use your cable remote to see all your cable channels.
