Depends on the signal you are getting. If you are watching a NON HD channel it won't be HD. The only way any HD TV will have a HD picture or ULTRA HD picture is if its receiving a HD or ULTRA HD Signal. Hook a bluray player up to it and you will see, and you can also adjust the picture settings better that way because you can pause and stop the bluray and adjust it to your tastes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All of my devices output 1080p and are very sharp on the Toshiba panel. If you are viewing from a device where the output is less than 1080p, such as an old DVD player or VHS tape, then it probably won't look good. Keep in mind, some old DVDs may have 720 resolution instead of 1080p, and 720 won't look as good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The lack of picture quality is most likely the fault of your input source and not that of the TV's display. If you are watching Cable for instance: Are you paying for the High Definition Package? If not then more than likely the actual signal sent by your Cable company is not HD and so your TV is stuck with "upscaling" a poor quality video feed. Are you streaming? What is the Video Quality of your stream? If your Internet is not fast enough, again the signal will not be HD. Have you connected a Blu-Ray player to your device? How is the picture quality of a Blu-ray? A DVD?
