Not to be a smarty pants, but why did you buy a 4K TV if you don't want 4K resolution?  I have the same TV, but haven't used it much, as it's in our basement (which we are remodeling).

Go to Settings. Select Display Type. Click the Right Arrow button on the remote. Scroll to the 720p or 1080p TV option and press OK to disable 4K.
