I haven't taken this one apart, but I would recommend going with a laptop drive instead of taking this apart hoping to find a laptop drive inside of it. A lot of manufacturers of portable drives have started soldering directly to the drive boards instead of having connectors on the drive. This saves space, making the portable drives cuter and easier to stick in your pocket, and it also saves on the expense of male and female connectors. Also, if you buy a laptop drive directly, you know exactly what you are getting instead of thinking "is this a 5600rpm drive? Is it a slower one?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the portable version is 2.5. You may not want to do that as you risk wrecking the board when taking it apart. I would recommend using a SSD for the PS4. Costs more, but your performance is better. Otherwise there are cheaper 2.5" drives on the market.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would have to research a bit or call the manufacture because the spec that comes with manual is with case on so there no sure way to tell if it's the same thickness as PS4 hard drive. You can buy from Amazon hard drive without case that other people used to upgrade there PS4. Seagate is the normal hard drive PS4 uses and I know people have used as upgrade.
