The drive operates like all hard drives, allowing you to create folders and subfolders, and save to them however you want. There are folders included on the drive that contain the backup software, so as long as you leave these files intact you can add other folders and files and still use the backup features. Organizing photos can be done using Windows Explorer, just as you would use it with your internal hard drive.

If you just plug in the drive, you can copy files and folders (or create new folders) just like on your main disk, it will just show up as another disk and you can manage it however you want to.
