“Is this device compatible with Windows XP? After the unit arrived, I noticed on the side of the box it said it's compatible with Windows 8, 7, etc. I have Windows XP installed on my laptop. Will this be a problem, or might it still work? Just wondering if I need to return the unit.....”

• This should work just fine for XP, the only thing that may not work is any basic software that comes on the hard drive. The software is not necessary at all, I never use it.

• No, not without reformatting the drive. The drives are preformatted NTFS for Windows® 8.1, 8, and 7. Plus.

• I regularly use Toshiba Canvio external USB Hard Drives with Windows XP and Windows 7. No problem.

• It should work. Most devices are compatible with older operating systems.

• It actually has the compatible operating systems on the box. I think 8 was listed. I have windows 7
