I have been able to record any movie on cable, including PPV, by setting the TV Input to normal HDMI and clicking "Rec" on the remote. I cannot record it if I try to use the timer function, so I have to be there when the movie starts and stops if I just want the movie without other stuff on the recording. Leaving the Input set for DVD recording on the timer (like for recording overnight) doesn't work on PPV programs.
