  • Owner's manual

Q: This may sound dumb, but can I transfer from a VHS playing in this unit to a DVD recording in this unit?

A: Yes. You can record DVD-to-VHS, or VHS-to-DVD. You'll find the directions for copying videos on pages 50-51 in the owner's manual.

Q: how long does it take to transfer a vhs to dvd

A: The transfer is in real time, so whatever the length of the VHS recording, that is how long the transfer will take.

Q: I have a DVR, can I record movies I have saved on the DVR to dvd with this system???

A: If your DVR has either a Composite Video (yellow) or S-Video output, you can record content on your DVR to a DVD. Be aware that many programs on premium channels have copy-protection embedded in the signal that will prevent you from making a copy.

Q: what am I going to be missing if I dont buy one with a tuner

A: A tuner would enable you to record TV programs from cable or antenna. With no tuner you'll use your cable or satellite box to select the program you want to record. Regardless of the recording options above, you'll be able to record between the VHS and DVD recorders, as well as play back VHS or DVD.

Q: Does a remote control come with this unit?

A: Yes, the remote is included.

Q: i just want to transfer vhs to dvd do i need a tv hookup ?

A: You don't have to have a Satellite/Cable box to transfer videos. The disc preparation and recording menus are shown on the TV, so you should have it attached to your TV.

Q: Can I play a VHS tape using only an HDMI cable to hook the unit to my TV?

A: It depends. Please see below for exceptions listed in the User's Guide. Caution on using S-video, component, or HDMI connection for VCR: • Only the playback audio / video are available with these connections. • Under the conditions listed below, the playback image and audio cannot be output. Use the standard video connection, in such case; - during DVD recording. - when L3 (DV-IN) is selected. • HDMI video resolution cannot be changed when the unit is in VCR mode
