“This may sound dumb, but can I transfer from a VHS playing in this unit to a DVD recording in this unit? I see nothing in the instruction manual that tells me how to play a VHS tape and record it on to a DVD with this unit alone.”

• Yes. You can record DVD-to-VHS, or VHS-to-DVD. You'll find the directions for copying videos on pages 50-51 in the owner's manual.

• Yes. So long as it is not Copyright protected. Home movies - yes. Comercial VHS tapes - no.

• Look in manual under dubbing . You can dub from vcr to DVD and from DVD to VHS. If you are not making one long movie make sure you use DVD RW discs.

• It's not dumb. It looks like you can dub stuff on a VHS tape to a DVD.
