• You can duplicate tapes without copy protection to DVD, and play them in any DVD player as long as the DVD is finalized properly when you're finished recording.

• With most DVD burners, you must finalize the recording on the DVD (so it cannot be taped-over) then it is able to play on other systems just like store bought.
