Can someone please explain why most Kasa bulbs CANNOT be used in an enclosed light fixture (ie Not okay in a domed ceiling light). I don’t understand if it’s an overheating issue (but arent these low power/high efficient LED bulbs?) or wifi problems??? null

WIFI problem. I had 3 of these in one fixture before and they would constantly drop off my network.

Hi! The KL50 smart bulb has the following environmental specifications:

Operating Temperature: -15 ºC~ 40 ºC (5°F ~ 104°F )
Operating Humidity: 10%~90% RH, Non-condensing

While smart LED bulbs are highly energy efficient, the bits of technology in the base of the bulb (Wi-Fi radio, processor, etc.) do generate heat, and have a threshold of reliable functionality. For example, if the above-mentioned environmental temperatures are exceeded, responsiveness and reliability of the bulb could be affected.

That said, in an enclosed environment, with no way to effectively ventilate or dissipate heat, this may introduce ambient temperatures that exceed the above specifications, which is why we recommend against installing the bulbs in enclosed fixtures.
