• After purchase, BestBuy will provide a link to download TurboTax. After download and installed, the program stays on the PC. Hope this answer your questions

• Like most digital downloads. You get an activation code, go to the software maker or seller site. Create a login, enter your code and then it downloads and extracts a compressed file. Once extracted u can use it without a net connection but will still need a hookup to download updates and to e file. The software and tax file remain on your device.
