• If you use it for PS4 all you do is connect it to the controller and should be ready to go, it only has one cord for both mic and sound. In the cord there is a button to where you can mute the headset and only hear audio, along with a side for the volume adjustment.

• It's one wire for both but if you really need to split them you can by purchasing a jack adapter like the one I uploaded a picture of that I purchased and works for me to hook it up to my PC.
