It has a generous weight rating though I think the 55" limit is set for the over hang and perhaps if you plan on mounting it to the included hardware which raises the viewing level. Heavier may cause higher risk of tipping (backward.) Then you should somehow secure it with the included hardware for that. Bottom line, you can do it while knowing the involved risks. Good luck.
