“Is the tv stand mount capable of supporting the tv without wall support?”

• Yes, it can stand on its own. Dunno if it would be safe to have people walking behind it in an open concept thing... it is designed with the expectation that a wall is behind it. There would be obvious safety issues if it were in a setting where people would walk behind it. The kit comes with a wall "hook" so that it doens't tip over if some kid crawls on the shelves...but it isn't a weight bearing fixture.

• Yup base is heavy I have a 60 on it and it's fine even on swivel
