Both the 400 and 600 LED strings are made up of 2 x 200 and 2 x 300 LEDs respectively. The lengths start at the control unit, so are effectively in parallel. They are not one long string starting from the controller. If you want them to appear as a single long string, the controller will be at the mid point, with each length running in opposite directions. Please note that the Twinkly app is able to map the lights (using your phone or tablet camera), regardless of the placement and direction of the lengths. Once you've mapped the lights, the Twinkly app will automatically create a set of different patterns for the lights. The way the mapping software works never fails to amaze me!

It is a single piece, which is powered by a single power supply. If you wish to join multiple strings together (for example, two 400 RGB strings), you will need to create a virtual group with the App,so you can run two or more products as if they were a single device, creating a group Sync, Join or Area, according to your preferences!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The 400 LED set (and probably any set with multiple strings) power the strings in parallel. Each string has its own connection to the controller. The controller itself is powered, and then distributes that power to the strings. You only need a single outlet, for the "wall wart" that provides power to the controller. In a scenario where you want the equivalent of a single long string, you would presumably arrange things with the controller in the middle and the two strings heading outward in opposite directions from there. The controller is fairly small, and there is a decent length of wire between the controller and the first LED, so you have good flexibility in arranging how the lights are actually placed. Light sets can be programmed as a "group"; I haven't tried that yet, but the feature should allow one to arrange longer/larger displays where a single set doesn't suffice.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The two strings run in parallel, however you can run the separate strands in different directions from the electrical hook up point. You are not able to hook them together in a series to make a very long strand.
