Yes, a separate antenna and cable required. Magnetic or permanent mount. Whip(Wilson) or rigid(Firestik) Also depends on the following: Type of vehicle - on or off road? Car, truck, Suv or other?? A 9 or 18 foot cable also required, depending on mounting location(s). If still unsure, have a friend help, or visit a good shop with questions. They should be able to point you in the right direction and get you what you need! I may still go to a shop, to have my install checked out and adjusted if/as needed, for optimum performance.
