• No, video recording is only triggered from breaking or a collision. It cannot be used as a security camera.

• If you have it plugged in to a port that works off the battery then yes. Mine is plugged in to the port on the dash that only works when the key is turned on.

• If you’re car has has constant power to the unit, yes. Some cars don’t keep power to the cigarette lighter when the car is shut off! If you have a portable battery charger/jump starter with USB ports it will work fine!
