“using with ceiling speakers I have a 7/1 system. I am moving next week and can not get the wires up my outside wall and into the ceiling so my question is, if i put the receiver end up in my attic (in the same room but in the attic) and plug it in up there and then into the speakers, will it work (with there being drywall between the transmitter and reciever)? I am seeing some responses that says it should go up to 100' and only loses about 20' for every wall and the 2 devices would be WELL within 80' of each other, more like 40'. Also, is there any reason for concern with having it plugged in up there?”

I use this system for wireless stereo sound in my basement. I am going through a wall/floor. The receiver is about 40-50 feet from the transmitter and I have no problems (distortion, drop outs, etc.). Attic installation should be fine but it is a powered amplifier so there may be a little heat generation or ambient heat from the attic.

However, I wouldn't be too concerned about with having it plugged in the attic, provided the attic stays dry and on the cooler side during the summer. The unit does not produce any noticeable heat, but could overheat if external temperatures rise to high. Also there is a front/rear fade knob in the rear receiver that you will need to access for initial setup. Might be a hassle if the unit is in the attic.
