“I was wondering if this is going to be able to work in the car? does it need to be hooked upor is it like a phone and just work off of the cell towers. trying to give my self a rough estimate on date usage with two ipods and a tablet”

It can be used in your car. The unit does not come with a car adapter, but it is a usb tupe of connector so I am sure you can use a universal cig adapter.. Usage is going to depend on what is being streamed.
