• If the hotspot is on and your computer is in then data will be consumed. There are other functions/applications such as updates that will use data. If you don't want to use data then simply power the hotspot off.

• If your devices aren't connected to the jetpack, it won't use data. You can leave it on, and connected, but Verizon suggests you don't do that to avoid unwanted data usage.
