That probably has to do with new phones being CDMA Less. A lot of people are having the same issue. Google "cdma less provision sim card". What Samsung phone did you have and what Motorola phone did you buy? If your old SIM card worked and can make and receive calls call your provider and tell them to add CDMA Less to your account.
