Thank you for your inquiry. The filters for this unit, the PWF2 wicking filters, have a life of 30-60 days of use. This unit comes with a filter, but you can purchase additional filters as well. I already had the filters from a previous humidifier. I run my unit pretty much 24/7 and I've changed the filter about ever 60 days.

They last for upto 30 days depending on the hardness of your water. They can be bought from most stores like best buy and walmart for about $15 each
