“I read one of the customer comments that said this device will only play/convert commercially recorded cassettes. I need to convert many personally recorded old cassette tapes of my parents' and grandparents' stories. Will it do that? Thank you.”

This product can be used for any content. As long as your audio player is working and has outputs that will connect to the audio capture device, it should work. We have customers who have used it for family recordings, sermons, speeches, and many other personal recording types.
