This product is not a physical CD burner. It allows you to connect your own working audio player to the USB capture device, then play and capture the audio content to audio files on a computer. You can use the software to burn those files to CD using your own CD writer built into or externally connected to the computer.

You first have to import the record or cassette tape onto your computer and then you can burn it to a cd. If you're using vinyl records you do have to use an amplifier or there will be no sound to transfer.
