• Everything is in the box! I did purchase an external harddrive just for storing the newly created files. You could burn them right to DVDs though.

• no need to buy a cable, the USB cable comes with it and the cables for your VCR

• Standard RCA connectors are included for input FROM most analogue video players to the VIDBOX. If these are priceless home videos you are digitizing, I would suggest gold cables. Also note that if your playback machine has S-VHS capability, the VIDBOX will accept it. A standard USB cable is included for output to your computer. The VIDBOX is powered up as soon as it is plugged into the computer.

• I didn't need to buy any other cables. If you prefer using S-video over RCA cables, you'll need to bring your own, but the RCA cables worked just fine for me.

• I successfully transferred everything over the network. No extra cables. Your device will need to be able to run the Parallels transporter agent application to transfer over Ethernet.
