Everything is in the box! I did purchase an external harddrive just for storing the newly created files. You could burn them right to DVDs though.

If these are priceless home videos you are digitizing, I would suggest gold cables. Also note that if your playback machine has S-VHS capability, the VIDBOX will accept it. A standard USB cable is included for output to your computer. The VIDBOX is powered up as soon as it is plugged into the computer.
