"Just Unbelievable"

This Vidbox For Mac is just unbelievable. Application was easy to install and setup was a breeze. Only takes a few cables and you are ready to clicks to record all VHS tape to digital right unto your mac. After transferring my first old 80s family vhs tapes this little box already pay for itself "priceless". Only downside is that you need to play your vhs movies and let it wrong until the end of your video to stop recording, however if you know the length of the video you could setup a time for recording and this little box with the application will stop at the end of that time from recording. Other then that I am very happy with this purchase.

Works great for transferring videos from my Sony Hi8 camcorder to MacBook (Intel I9 with Sequoia 15.6.1). Transferred 20 tapes without problems. Download the latest driver from their website. For newer computers you need a USB-A to USB-C adapter. I used Adobe Premier Elements 2021 to edit the movies on my MacBook.

I purchased this exclusively to transfer VHS tapes to a digital format. I have successfully transferred about ten hours of tapes and everything has gone smoothly!
Quality is as good as when I was recording VHS tape with a digital 8 camcorder and then importing to the computer.
The provided software has not crashed or frozen at all. The UI is simple and to the point. I have used it on a new 5k iMac along with an older 2012 iMac. Works great on both.

I had purchased another VHS converter before, and I had trouble with it not capturing sound but this one is simple to use and works great. Just connect it to your VCR and to your Mac and start recording. You need lots of memory or an external drive to store recordings or burn direct to a DVD.

It's very easy to use but the program shuts often. If you have a large VHS/Hi8 collection to transfer to digital, you'll only be able to transfer a few videos at a time. Then you'll have to restart the program. Also, double check your videos to make sure the sound transferred properly. I have a few videos where the sound didn't match up with the mouth movement or what was happening at the time. I had to re-record them. Overall, this probably saved me a couple of hundred dollars to transfer old videos on my own. It was a good buy!

It's pretty easy to use and lets me control exactly what I want to copy. You can make copies of the files very easily for backup. The only issue I've had is that it will kick you out of the program periodically when dragging what you've saved into the file. This is not a good device if you have poor eyesight as the viewing screen in the program is relatively small.

Frustrated with a more expensive product I had previously purchased (which I returned), I decided to try VidBox for Mac. Am I glad I did! Easy to install; my old VHS cassettes copied without a glitch and I couldn’t be happier! I had in the past converted VHS tapes to digital through Costco, but it was a lot more cost effective to purchase VidBox and convert all of my old videos. A lot of money saved! Anyone who has an ear and who has old VHS videos will hear me recommend VidBox! Hope it works as well for others as it has for me!

I purchased this for my Mac and I am grateful I did. It is easy to set up, comes with all the plugs needed so you don’t need to run around looking in your old junk drawers for a rca/s cord cable. Allows easy transfer of old home videos.

Vidbox works flawlessly for recording your VHS tapes in a digital format. You have a great deal of control over where you wish to save or burn your video. I was able to save a video from the 1980s that I assumed was going to not be able to be saved. The process is simple and intuitive even for a beginner.

Works great, easy to use. But, if doesn’t download after a couple attempts, call support as may need a new link emailed to set up with the most recent Mac OS such as Sonoma. Support (a real human!) identified issue quickly and emailed right away.

Two minutes to load the included software. The hardest thing was finding my best VHS player to use. Used a JVC S-VHS machine with gold cables. Sent to my i-mac 27 Sierra. 40 hours of video transferred so far-about 160 hours to go. Flawless recording so far. Not even a single dropped frame. Set the time to match the length of the original recording, press play and record and walk away. .mov files created automatically when recording is finished. Just remember that the finished file will never be any better than the original analogue but it's pretty close.

Easy to hook up and use. Was able to transfer four old tapes to my computer and share them with family using Dropbox or making a DVD. Quality is diminished but acceptable. Inexpensive if you have a lot of tapes to transfer compared to using a service which can be pricey. A negative is that you have to sit there while it does it in real time so it can be time consuming. I hope to use it for the many tapes I have stored. Any truly special videos I will likely have a professional service do after I make my own for insurance. It can be buggy at times but overall it works well and I am satisfied.

Saw how expensive it can be to have my 8mm video tapes and old VHS tapes professionally converted to DVD, to computer files, etc, so I thot I would give this converter box a go. So far, I have been very pleased. Have converted 17 of my tapes without difficulty and have put some edited versions into the cloud fpr my family to watch elsewhere. Easy to set up and use. Also, you are NOT limited to the 6 min video segments that is mentioned in the software. I have one file that was an hour long.

Worked fine with a little babysitting. I just wanted to convert old VHS tapes to digital storage. It works fine but seems to have a max of about 20mins before it may error. So longer videos I did in a couple of clips sizes. I just had to get back in the 20mins window and I would stop it and start new one. Only because some times if you let it error on it’s own you may loose that block of 20mins recording and will have to do it over.

I purchased this to replace my Roxio easy to VHS that died after 3 years of use. The first thing I noticed was that the software was a lot easier to install and get working. The device produces better image quality and more vivid colors. Overall I am very impressed with this device and even retransferred a few VHS that I had previously done as I felt the color and picture quality was worth it.

Five minutes to load software onto my iMac. Picked my best S-VHS VCR for playback(JVC). Vidbox has connections for standard RCA or S-VHS cables. With a few clicks you choose your inputs and recording time. Press 'Play' on your VCR and click 'Record' on your computer and Vidbox does the rest. Drag and drop the finished file anywhere you want. Already digitized 85 2 hour tapes flawlessly. Did a frame by frame side by side playback comparison of a 5gig .mov recording with a 25gig .dv recording. Vidbox for Mac wins.
