A: I had the exact same issue. The short answer is no. I bought this HDMI audio extractor and connected it to my TV's HDMI ARC port to see if it could pull the audio stream from the TV and output it via the headphone jack. However, when I connected it, it received no audio stream from the TV. As it turns out, when a device is connected to your TV's HDMI ARC port, the TV will only output the audio stream via that port if the connected device is configured as an ARC receiver (like a sound bar or home theater receiver). If the device is not an ARC receiver, the TV will instead treat it as an input device. Unfortunately, this HDMI audio extractor is not configured as an HDMI ARC receiver, so the TV won't output sound to it over ARC.
