This product attempts to reproduce audio as-is but it does encode audio using MPEG-1 Layer 2 as used by DVD video standards. This is not expected to prevent capture or diminish ambient sounds, but it will be a compressed audio format. We find that typically users that experience audio issues not present in the source or due to a faulty equipment or connection are on systems that do not meet the processor requirement for the product, so please make sure that this product is a good match for the computer you intend to use.
