I have a Samsung Camcorder with Sony Hi8MP 8mm tapes. I have a A/V plug and RCA (red, white and yellow) to the VIDBOX. My sound is crackling and no video...I only get video on an S-Video cable, but no sound. Please provide directions on next steps null

Based on the description, this issue most resembles what happens when the cables used on the camcorder are mismatched. Please make sure you are using the original A/V cable for the camcorder or the same type that it originally came with. Substituting an A/V stereo cable in for an A/V mono connection may cause the video and audio channels to bleed into one another, creating static/buzzing in audio and issues with the video. S-Video only supports video, so an appropriate audio connection will still need to be made from the camcorder to the capture device.

On the RCA cable the red and white are sound the yellow is the video feed. If you have an SVid connected to the cam and the Vidbox, try just the red and white to both.

I was able to use the S-Video for Video and the AV cable ( using just the red and white) for sound.
