Can I transfer straight to a usb thumb drive? null

I would say Yes. That said...I save to my local hard drive & external harddrive. Note: the app is hit or miss when it comes to the app allowing u to view the video simultaneously as it plays on the device your extracting video from. Ex: Camcorder.Strangely, It will still record the video even though u cant see it playing in the app.

You may or may not be able to depending on the formatting of the thumb drive. Also, it generally performs more reliably if you record to a file on the internal drive of the computer first, then move the completed file to your external storage.
